Janet M. Teachout, 78, of Waupun, died Friday evening, March 9, 2012 at the Christian Homestead in Waupun.

Janet was born September 24, 1933 in Fond du Lac the daughter of Herbert and Gertrude Tesloff Schaub. On November 19, 1955 she married Thomas A. Teachout in Fond du Lac. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun most of their married lives. Janet was a receptionist for Drs. Ed and Cora Arellano at Elm Avenue Clinic in Waupun for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun and its Altar Society. Janet was a den mother for Cub Scouts, loved gardening, canning, baking, and making Barbie Doll clothes. Having raised four sons, she enjoyed trout fishing and hunting with her husband and sons. Her motto was “if you can’t beat them, join them.”

Janet is survived by four sons and their spouses, Thomas M. (Deborah) Teachout of Waupun, Timothy J. (Kathleen) Teachout of Waupun, John P. (Beverly) Teachout of Ripon, James D. (Judy) Teachout of Waupun; eight grandchildren, Lisa Teachout, Derek (Jackie) Teachout, Jeremy (Melissa) Teachout, Corey Teachout, Matthew Teachout, Nathan Teachout, Nicholas (Stacy) Teachout and Hilary Teachout; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Sieloff and Kathleen Schaub; and a brother-in-law, John Stateson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Teachout; her parents, Herbert and Gertrude Schaub; two brothers, Jack Schaub and her twin brother, James Schaub; two sisters-in-law, Susie Stateson and Beverly Schaub; and a brother-in-law, John Sieloff.

Services:

A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet Teachout will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Rev. John Schmitz officiating.

Visitation:

Friends and relatives of Janet Teachout may call on the family on Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home of Waupun and staff are serving the family.

    So sorry to about Jan. I have know her for alot of years, when she worked for Dr. Ed and Dr. Cora. She was such a wonderful and caring person. Wish more was like her.
    She will be deeply missed by a lot of people.

    Cindy and I would like to offer our sympathy in your time of need. I will never forget the special times your mom and I shared which will never be lost. Especiall the time she, mom and I went to Vegas.
    She always had a specal place in my heart especially when we invented the word WINKEY-POO our code it was time for a drink or two.
    I’m sure that her, dad and Uncle Tom are up there right now stiring one up!!! And soon they’ll be starting a game of Pinochle with mom.
    Such great memories that our familes shared throught the years. Remember to hold all those memories close to your hearts and don’t ever let them go.
