Joy Boom, 86, of Waupun, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

Joy was born March 13, 1926 in Brisbane, Australia the daughter of Roy and Alice Taylor Ferguson. On June 3, 1944 she married Delwin Boom in Brisbane, Australia. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Waupun most of their married lives. Joy was an active member of Waupun United Methodist Church in Waupun. Joy worked part time at Tom Dooley Apple Orchard, was a Waupun poll worker during elections, and was a volunteer at the Senior Center.

Joy is survived by a daughter, Suzanne (Mark) Krueger of Taos, NM; four sons, Dennis (Mary) Boom of Milwaukee, Randy Boom of Fond du Lac, Daniel (Barbara) Boom of Mt. Morris; and Timothy Boom of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rae Skyring of Brisbane, Australia and Vonnie Dunn of Brisbane, Australia.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Del; a son, Ricky; a daughter-in-law, Linda Boom; two brothers, Desmond and Max; and a sister, Royce.

Services:

Memorial services for Joy Boom will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Waupun United Methodist Church with Rev. J.D. McCarty officiating.

Visitation:

Friends and relatives of Joy Boom may call on the family at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
