Wiebe was born November 26, 1925 near Friesland, WI the son of John and Anna Katsma Buwalda. On January 3, 1947 he married Evelyn Vanden Berg in Brandon. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Waupun area. On September 12, 1984 Evelyn preceded him in death. On July 26, 1985 he married Ruth Bresser in Waupun. The couple shared 26 wonderful years of their lives together. Wiebe loved farming and following his retirement he continued to help out on the family farm. Wiebe was a member of First Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder. He was an avid supporter of Central Wisconsin Christian School. Wiebe was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed his family, farming, and had a strong Christian faith. He touched many lives during his stay at the Christian Home and Homestead.

Wiebe is survived by his wife, Ruth of Waupun; children, Betty (Wayne) Kastein of Waupun, Harlyn (Candy) Buwalda of Randolph, Keith (Sue) Buwalda of Markesan, Barb Burton of Auburndale, FL, Norman (Angela) Buwalda of Waupun, Craig (Rosanne) Bresser of Brandon, Randal (Peggy) Bresser of Waupun, Steve (Kate) Bresser of Waupun, Brian (Flora) Bresser of Brandon, and Tim (Deb) Bresser of Eau Claire; 53 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret Buwalda, Helen Reiter and Sophia Evans; and brother-in-law, Dale (Nancy) Vanden Berg.

Wiebe was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn; two grandchildren, Laura and Julie; a great-granddaughter, Jessie; four brothers, Isaac, Nick, Andy, and Sam Buwalda; three sisters, Grace Greenfield, Elsie Levey, and Anne Mulder. The family would like to offer a special “thanks” to the Christian Homestead and Hillside Hospice and requests that memorials be directed to them.
