Rest peacefully, my friend. I loved knowing Rodger for the short time we spent at Hope 4 Cancer in Mexico. He was certainly the most endearing person I had the pleasure of knowing there. He had strong opinions and definite ideas of what was right and wrong, acceptable and not. We enjoyed discourse that explored varying opinions about nature, his ideas about his tree museum/collection, how to farm, and using what nature offered to meet our health needs. Schley family, thank you for sharing your brother, father, son, uncle and husband. May he truly find joy and peace now. God carry you all and keep you you close.

So absolutely saddened to hear of Rodgers passing. He was a classmate of mine and one of the most unique, artistic and passionate individuals I’ve known. I think that’s why we always chatted and got along so well, as I too, am that same way. Loved catching up with him at class reunions and I remember my father Jim Powell getting firewood from him upon my recommendation as someone close to Waupun. Many, many prayers and condolences to all of the family. God speed, Rodger!

REST IN PEACE RODGER, I ONLY KNEW HIM A SHORT WHILE BACK IN 1999 WHEN I STAYED ON THE FARM WITH HIM AT A TIME WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES AND THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID TO HELP ME OUT, YOU TAUGHT ME QUITE A BIT ABOUT THE LOVE OF NATURE AND I WILL TAKE IT WITH ME THE REST OF MY DAYS.

Remember how grateful we were for Roger trimming our trees and offering us his opinions that delighted us. He always had his dog with him. So sorry to hear of his passing…too young…can’t imagine what happened to him.
