Marlene Kraintz, 77, of Waupun, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at her home.



Marlene was born February 26, 1935 in Waupun, WI, the daughter of Otto and Janet Redeker Loomans. Marlene attended Waupun schools, and graduated from Waupun High School in 1953. She attended Kenosha Technical Institute where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. On September 30, 1955 she married Albert Kraintz in Waupun. Shortly following their marriage they moved to Chicago where Marlene was employed at various hospitals and the Cancer Prevention Center in Chicago. Following their seven years of residence in Chicago they returned to Waupun to raise their family. Marlene was employed at the Christian Home in Waupun for five years, Waupun Memorial Hospital for 14 years, and Dr. William Wagner’s office for three years. She was also employed through the Wisconsin Division of Corrections where she was employed at Dodge Correctional Institution, Waupun Correctional Institution, and retired from Fox Lake Correctional Institution in 2001. Marlene was employed by Metzger Ambulance and Brooks Ambulance for 15 years and taught CPR at Moraine Park for 10 years. Marlene was a member of Waupun United Methodist Church where she was in the choir, a member of the Administration Board, treasurer and member of United Methodist Women, and treasurer and member of the Rachel Circle. She was also a treasurer and member of Waupun Lioness Club. Marlene was a committee member of Relay for Life and a member of Waupun Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and a doting Nana.

Marlene is survived by four children, John (Anne) Kraintz of Waupun, Daniel Allen (Dawn) Kraintz of Fond du Lac, Irene (Ted) McGahey of Alto, and Michael (Jean) Kraintz of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Junice Kok of Fox Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Kraintz in 1980; a sister Gladys Koerner, brothers-in-law, Seymour Kok, Marvin Kooiman, Wilbert Koerner, and Valentine Kraintz; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Memorials may be directed to Relay for Life.


Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4:30-7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Services:
Funeral services for Marlene Kraintz will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Waupun United Methodist Church.

Burial:
Burial will take place at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
