Agnes "Toots" Schroeder, age 82 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Agnes was born on February 5, 1928 in Beaver Dam to Emil and Agnes (nee Krueger) Riehbrandt Sr. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School and vocational school. On April 14, 1951 she was united in marriage to Eugene Schroeder at St. Michael's Catholic Church, while Gene was on leave from the military in Germany. Agnes worked at Green Giant canning company and Weyenberg Shoe Factory before retiring in 1981. She loved to watch the Green Bay Packers and listen to country music. When her son was in the Boy Scouts, she enjoyed working with the kids. Agnes raised African violets and roses. She also loved to see all of the children's costumes and smiles as she handed out Halloween candy each year. She enjoyed making German potato salad, along with corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day. Agnes always had a smile and kind word for everyone.

Agnes is survived by Eugene, her loving husband of 59 years; her son David and his wife Barb; her cat Morris; and her brother Ambrose (Susan) Reihbandt, all of Beaver Dam.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph, Walter, Emil Jr., Leo and John; her sister-in-laws, Jeanette and Doris Reihbandt; and her nephews, Gary Riehbrandt and Jim Reihbandt.

A Funeral Service for Agnes will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will take place following the service at the funeral home. Agnes will be laid to rest at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam. Memorials may be directed to Dodge County Humane Society.
