Alan R. Nehring

Alan Raymond Nehring, age 73 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

Alan was born in Beaver Dam on July 11, 1953, the son of Raymond and Betty-Jane (Kaseman) Nehring. He grew up in Beaver Dam and was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He worked with his father at their gas station before moving into working in corrections, where he spent most of his career. On September 21, 1985, he was united in marriage to his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Roberts at Randolph United Methodist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he spent many summers camping and traveling with family and friends, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Packers fan and a Harley fanatic, getting his first bike at 21 and taking his yearly trip to Sturgis Bike Rally. Alan was a true family man and loved being a father, uncle, and grandpa.

Alan is survived by his wife, Cindy Nehring; daughter, Jackie (John) Illyes; grandchildren, Tyler Brazee and Mason Illyes; sisters, Kathy Rogers, Cindy Mack, and Susan (Randall) Wallintin; in-laws, Hugh (Jane) Roberts, Joanne Gilbertson; Muriel Joule, Dana (Judi) Roberts, Debra (Jim) Syems, and Joan Roberts; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty-Jane; brothers-in-law, Earl Robert and Maurice (Audrey) Roberts; sisters-in-law, Mary (Arnie) Tillema and Arlys (Nick) Omen; and other relatives. 

A memorial gathering for Alan will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
