Annice Hopp, age 91, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Annice was born on June 25, 1935, in the town of Waupun, the daughter of Ralph and Winnie Josephine (Konings) Beek. Annice was united in marriage to Gerald Schouten on May 21, 1953, in Ladoga, where they farmed together until Gerald’s passing in 1973. She later married Rueben Van Buren on December 11, 1987, who passed away in 1991. On April 3, 1993, Annice married Elmer Hopp in Waupun and he passed away on January 7, 2020. Annice worked at Hardee’s for five years, Helen’s Kitchen for five years, and then Beaver Dam Community Hospital for 13 years. She was a member of Alto Reformed Church, where she participated in the Woman’s Guild, Mission Circle, and choir, while also teaching Sunday School. Annice was also a member of the Farm Bureau.
Annice is survived by two sons, Dale (Chris) Schouten, and Ronald Schouten; four daughters, Beverly Yunto, Kathleen (Committed Partner Tim Teachout) Muckerheide, Faye (Randy Simon) Schouten, and Debra (Jerry) Heller; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and further survived by other relatives and friends.
Annice was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Schouten, Rueben Van Buren, and Elmer Hopp; two brothers, Bernie Beek and Earl Beek; sisters-in-law, Angie Beek and Audrey Beek; and two sons-in-law, David Muckheide and Jerold Yunto; daughter in law, LaLonnie Schouten; great grandson, Alric; and other relatives.
Visitation for Annice will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Alto Reformed Church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy McDaniel officiating. Burial will take place at Alto Cemetery.
