Arlene I. Braun, age 99 of Fox Lake, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Heartland House in Wautoma.

Visitation for Arlene will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Markesan United Methodist Church, 74 E. Catherine St., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ethan Larson officiating.  Burial will be at Lake Emily Cemetery, town of Fox Lake, with lunch to follow at the church.

Arlene was born on February 12, 1917 in Green Lake County to Emil and Lena (Hahn) Michels. She was united in marriage to LaVester A. Braun on June 1, 1941 at the Markesan United Methodist Church of which she was a lifetime member. She and her husband farmed in Green Lake County until 1952, and then moved to Fox Lake Township in Dodge County where they continued farming until 1964. They then moved to Fox Lake on Howard Drive. Arlene worked as a cook at the Waupun School District from 1969 to1987.

Arlene treasured all of her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them. Arlene is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Mary) Braun of Sycamore, IL, Dennis (Shannon) Braun of Sandpoint, ID and her daughter Charlotte (Randy) Paul of Dakota, WI; her grandchildren, Barbara (Ben) Meyer of La Crosse, Sarah Payton of Coral Springs, Fl., Errica Braun of Fitchburg, Jennifer (Mike) Ferro of Sycamore, IL, Nicole Braun of Cortland, IL, Rebecca Henderson of Lake Mills, Jason (Kelley) Paul of Hortonville; her 14 great-grandchildren, Cammelia, Jodeci, Sydney, Wesley , Zachery, Zoe, Bryce, Caleb, Rowen, Ben, Madelyn, Brody, Evan and Eleanor; also nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989, two brothers Marland and Maurice Michels in 2007, and her sister Mildred Medick in 2009.

Arlene's family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Heartland House that gave such gently and loving care to Arlene during her stay.
