Arthur "Art" Schroeder, 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and more stories than anyone could possibly retell in one sitting.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 12 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow the service.

Art lived a life marked by devotion to his family married to his wife Gail, with whom he shared 57 remarkable years; and his three sons Scott, Steve and Mark.

He had a remarkable gift: he made people feel seen. Whether you were a lifelong friend or the stranger he just met in line, Art was always more interested in hearing your story than telling his own. His joy came not from the spotlight, but from celebrating the happiness and successes of others.

Art loved a good round of golf, a game of cards, playing bags, and a good debate. If there was competition involved, Art showed up ready to compete.

With his big smile, bigger energy, and an ease that made everyone feel like an old friend, Art collected people everywhere he went. At the lake house, cheering on the Packers, or watching his grandchildren play sports Art was happiest in the company of others.

His faith anchored him, his values guided him, and his authenticity inspired those around him.

Add in late-night potato chips or simply enjoying a beer and you embrace who Art was.

Art will be deeply missed by Gail, his sons Scott, Steve (Erin) and Mark (Amanda) his grandchildren Kelly Anne, Luke, Jack, Ben, Quentin, Lydia, Harvey and Vance who were his pride and joy. Along with his brothers Dan (Judy), Ray (Diane), his sister Julie Henckel, and sister-law Sue Kanzora, nieces and nephew, and of course the countless friends who will carry his stories, his laughter, and his spirit forward.

A memorial in Art's name may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish or Beaver Dam Hockey Association.
