Austin Neil Schulz, age 92 of Markesan, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Austin was born on August 30, 1929, the son of Edwin and Luella (Welk) Schulz. He was united in marriage to his wife, Joyce Schwandt, on June 7, 1955, at Markesan United Brethren Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. Austin worked for the Markesan School District as the Maintenance Supervisor and served as a fireman in Markesan for many years. In his free time, he loved being outside, particularly mowing lawn, working in the garden, and fishing. He was always proud to say his favorite flower was corn.

Austin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Schulz; brother, Don Schulz; sister, Patricia Schulz; sister-in-law, Evelyn Schwandt; and further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willis (Phyllis) and James (Patricia); and other relatives.

In honoring of his wishes, private family services for Austin will be held. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Marquette.
