Berniece Schueler, age 95 of Waupun (formerly of Marquette), passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Visitation for Berniece will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, 316 Vine St, Kingston from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Frank Rose officiating. Burial will take place at Grand View Cemetery in Marquette.
Berniece was born on November 24, 1922 in Montello, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Mathilda (Briskie) Radke. She graduated from Montello High School. She was first married to Milton Mildebrandt at St. John's in Montello, who preceded her in death in 1962. Later she married Edward Schueler on June 29, 1963 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marquette. Berniece was a homemaker most of her married life and, in particular, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, making many beautiful floral arrangements. She also worked with the hot lunch program at the Marquette Grade School, clerked at Grooses' Family Store, and worked at the Carlson Greenhouse in Marquette at separate intervals after moving from the family farm to the Village of Marquette. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kingston.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion (Lynn) Kobow of Ripon, WI and Lona (Steve) Thurk of Markesan, WI; five grandchildren, Brian (Orie Maas) Kobow of Watertown, WI, Douglas Kobow of Appleton, WI, Jeffrey (Vonda) Kobow of Arlington, TX, Brandon Thurk of Fond du Lac, WI and Heather (Chris) Rice of Chelmsford, MA; three great-grandchildren, Victoria Kobow and Jeffrey Kobow, Jr., both of Arlington, TX, and Charlotte Rose Rice of Chelmsford, MA; special niece, Ellen Jankowski of Green Lake, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Berniece was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Milton in 1962; second husband, Edward in 2017; sisters, Dorothy Mills and Erma Jankowski; nephew, Donald Hillmer and other relatives.
Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, Kingston or a charity of your choice.
