Betty Joyce (Scheradella) Nadolski passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 80, on her way to Ash Wednesday services. Though sudden, it is comforting that she was at church and with family and other God-sent helpers.
Betty was born on October 15, 1945 in Sheffield, Alabama, to John & Mamie (Smith) Scheradella. She moved as a child with her family to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She grew up there and married Joseph Cyril Nadolski on May 1, 1965. With three young children, they moved to Fairchild, Wisconsin, where they bought a farm. Farming also took them to Unity, Wisconsin. In 1976, they sold the farm and moved their five children to Columbus, Wisconsin, where they remained until retirement.
While in Columbus, Betty worked many years at The Sajac Company, Columbus Chemical Industries, and American National Bank. She was known to be dependable, hardworking, a quick learner, and a juggler of many duties. When she wasn’t at work, she had her hands full with Joe and the kids, taking care of her mother, and canning vegetables from their five gardens. Later, before formally retiring, she became a fulltime daycare provider to three of her grandchildren.
Betty was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Parish in Columbus where she sang in the choir. Her children attended school there and she volunteered for many events. She had fond memories of attending Saturday 8:00 p.m. Mass where she would cantor, her husband would lector, and her children would play organ and be altar servers. It was the Nadolski family Mass to Betty.
Betty spent her retirement the last 15 years in Mesa, Arizona. Betty and Joe lived in Velda Rose Estates where Betty made quite the impression on their new friends and neighbors. She served on the Homeowners Association Board. She started a monthly bunco game event at their club house and ran bingo too. She attended other game events such as Mexican train. She enjoyed morning water aerobics with the ladies, mostly for the conversation. Most Sunday afternoons were spent playing cards and dice with friends and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry and Betty Lou Nadolski. A celebration of Betty’s life was held by the Velda Rose Homeowners Association on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 where many happy memories and touching kind words were shared. Betty was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Mesa.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother Charles Murphree; parents-in-law Harry and Agnes (Bashynski) Nadolski; brothers-in law Alan Knight, Terry Baldwin, and John Nadolski; and sister-in-law Helen Adamzak.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph; five children: Kristine (Paul) Roedl, David (Lyrae), Linda (Kevin) Nelson, Jason, and Steven (Tracy); 11 grandchildren: Damian Roedl, Melyna Nadolski, Teague (Emily) Nadolski, Joselyn Roedl, Jillian (Mike) Wills, Madelyn Nadolski, Clayton (Grace) Jannusch, Alex Nadolski, Mitchell Nadolski, Noah Jannusch, and Riley Nadolski; one great granddaughter, Wren Wills; sisters-in-law Theresa Knight and Irene Baldwin; brothers-in-law Larry Adamzak and Henry (Betty) Nadolski; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty’s children want to especially thank Betty Lou Nadolski for being Mom’s best friend and a helpful caregiver to our parents these last few years in Arizona.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m., both at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Lomira/LeRoy, Wisconsin. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens on US Hwy 151, Beaver Dam, with a luncheon after at St. Katharine Drexel Parish Center at 408 S. Spring Street, Beaver Dam.
Flowers should be sent to St. Andrew Church. If desired, memorials in Betty's name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
