Bonnie J. Gilmore, age 73 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Bonnie was born on May 30, 1940 in Beaver Dam, WI to Oscar and Grace (nee Philbrick) Baker. She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School, Class of 1958 and attended Madison Business College. On May 21, 1961 she was united in marriage to Doug Gilmore and together they were blessed with four children. Often thought of as the glue of her family and a wonderful role model for her children, Bonnie treasured all of the time they spent together. They all looked forward to the annual family vacations that Bonnie organized, as well as the handwritten cards stuffed with pictures that she was sure to send out for every special event or holiday.

Bonnie & Doug together owned Gilmore's Piggly Wiggly in Beaver Dam for 41 years before retiring in 2008. Bonnie served as the Business Manager and filled-in various other roles as needed. Serving as a former Relay for Life Chair, as well as a featured speaker at a past Beaver Dam Relay for Life event, Bonnie was an inspiration for many throughout the community. She also enjoyed being an active part of her high school class's reunion committee. Bonnie always looked forward to and enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her classmates in the Beaver Dam area. Bonnie was an avid reader, and she always enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Her quick-witted sense of humor will be missed by many.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Doug Gilmore of Beaver Dam; her son, Darren Gilmore of Milltown, WI; her daughters, Leah (Mark) Weber of Beaver Dam, Melissa (Mark) Richie of Beaver Dam and Mary Gilmore of Rock Hill, SC; and her granddaughter, Kayla (Ben) Larson of Beaver Dam. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law, Gary Gilmore, sister-in-law, Gaye Polzin and other relatives.

Visitation for Bonnie will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with a luncheon immediately following the service at Cornerstone. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam.
