Carl R. Fritts, Jr., age 64 of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Carl was born on December 12, 1946 in Columbus, WI to Carl W. and Lucille (nee Watters) Fritts, Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. He worked as a machine operator and also in receiving at John Deere in Horicon for over 30 years. He enjoyed racing and working on cars. He had a great collection of die cast cars, trains, remote control airplanes and guns. Carl also liked bowling and playing cards in his earlier years.

Carl is survived by his three children, Shane Fritts of Beaver Dam, Maria Fritts of Beaver Dam, and Carl "Rick" (Kim) Fritts III of Randolph; his grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Raenne and Josephine, who all called him "Candy Grandpa"; and his sisters, Beverly Huttner of Milwaukee, Mary Draginis of Milwaukee and Margaret Krueger of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by the mother of his children, Kathy Lawton of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.

Visitation for Carl will take place on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. Private family burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lost Lake, Dodge County.
