Carl Walter Schwark, age 85 of Ooltawah, TN passed away on December 7, 2019 in Chattanooga, TN.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 266 Sherman Ave, Marquette, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Michael Plagenz officiating. Inurnment will take place at Memory Hill Cemetery.
Carl was born in Marquette, WI on February 25, 1934, the son of Walter and Johanna (Hoffmann) Schwark. He was baptized into faith on May 18, 1934 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Marquette. He was confirmed on April 10, 1949 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Markesan. He was united in marriage to Shirley Zimpel on August 13, 1955 in Gays Mills, WI. They were blessed with 8 children: Vicky (Fred) Lang of Dalton, Cindy Anding of Watertown, Wayne (Kathy) Schwark of Fox Lake, Perry (Maxine) Schwark of Trenton, GA, Scott Schwark of Fox Lake, Janet (Ron) Moeller of Fox Lake, and Brian (Melissa) Schwark of Cleveland, TN. He was further blessed with 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was employed as a foundry supervisor/consultant throughout the country, and was currently employed at SeaCast of Marysville, WA. He loved to travel, fish, and garden.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; 2 brothers, Melvin (Liz) and Ralph; and many other nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; granddaughter, Lindsey; his parents; an infant brother; sister, Carol; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law; and other relatives.
