Carol J. Henke, age 70 of Horicon, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Carol was born on August 17, 1939 in Farmington to Gordon and Rachel (nee Haferman) Astin. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in 1957 and on July 27, 1957 she was united in marriage to Robert A. Henke in Helenville.

Carol enjoyed gardening, bird watching, playing cards with friends and neighbors and she loved Sheltie dogs.
She was a member of Trinity Church- United Methodist in Beaver Dam.

Carol is survived by her husband; Robert A. Henke of Horicon, a daughter Karen (Greg) Hanson of Horicon, four grandchildren and her beloved dog Harley. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, two children; Rhonda Frank and Ron Henke, both in 2000, one sister; Jean Borchardt, one brother; Darrell Astin and other relatives.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 11:00a.m. until 1:00 p.m at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Eileen Kuehnl officiating. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam and a luncheon will follow at the funeral home.
