Carol J. Perusse, age 77 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at her home.
Carol was born on March 6, 1933 in Waupun to Harrison and Jacoba (nee Hull) Vandeberg. She graduated from Waupun High School and was united in marriage to James Perusse. Carol was a secretary for Self-Help Housing and later worked at the Charleston House, both in Beaver Dam. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Ladies Circle and the Tuesday Morning Coffee Group. Carol also volunteered at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital and the Fast Care Clinic in Beaver Dam Shopko.
Carol was a wonderful cook, and she will always be remembered for her delicious lemon meringue pies, as well as her hearty chicken noodle soup, which seemed to have a way of making even her sickest friends feel better. She always looked forward to going out on her Friday night Fish Fry adventures. Carol enjoyed knitting and crocheting hats, scarves and afghans for her family. She also loved pets, was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling to South Carolina, where she had a wide circle of friends.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Paula Perusse of Beaver Dam; her son, Erik (Lisa) Perusse of Dawsonville, GA; two sisters, Virginia (Johnny) Hazouri of Ormond Beach, FL and Marcia (Jerry) Rechek of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents and other relatives.
A Memorial Service for Carol will take place on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 215 Gould Street, Beaver Dam with Rev. Bob Castro officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at church, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
