After a courageous battle with cancer, Caroline D. Frei was called home on Friday, March 22, 2019.

Visitation for Caroline will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Fairwater from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) with Rev. Kimberly Stowell officiating. Burial will follow at Fairwater Cemetery.

Caroline was born on August 24, 1945, to Eric and Esther (Schultz) Keplin. She was raised on the family farm located just northeast of Ripon. She attended and graduated from Ripon High School in 1963. She then attended Fond du Lac Technical School. After finishing school she got a job at Ripon Advertisers. She also worked at PMI for 22 years and also the family farm. She retired from Bonduelle Canning Company in Fairwater in 2014.

In 1967, Caroline married Ralph J Frei. They were married almost 47 years before his death. Caroline loved cooking, traveling, and cheering on the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, as well as watching her grandchildren's school events. She enjoyed bird watching and always appreciated a beautiful sunset.

Caroline is survived by her mother; Esther Stellmacher; children, Cynthia (Carol), Gerald, and Jeffery; grandchildren, Faith, Jordan, and Holden; sister; Barbara (Dick) Stellmacher; brother, Ron (Benita) Keplin; brother-in-law, Roger (Kathy) Frei; sister-in-law, Grace (Jim) Werzinske; and further survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eric and her husband, Ralph.
