Catherine De Jager, 80, of Waupun, went to live with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.




Catherine was born April 3, 1935 in the town of Alto, the daughter of Albert and Jennie Navis Mulder. Following graduation from Brandon High School she was employed for many years at Damsteegt Drug Store. On August 19, 1954 she married Frank De Jager at Alto Christian Reformed Church. Catherine was a life-long member of Alto Christian Reformed Church where she was a member of its mixed chorus, Ladies Aide Society, Faith Bible Society, and was a Sunday School Teacher. Following her marriage to Frank, she worked at Gysbers Supermarket and also Helen’s Kitchen for 32 years. She volunteered her time at Bargains Galore. As a family, they did a lot of hiking.

Catherine is survived by her husband, Frank De Jager of Waupun; three daughters: Kathleen (Carl) Huizenga of Fox Lake, Rosalie (Steve) Homan of Waupun, and Cindy (Dan) Vander Wal of Hudsonville, MI; a son, David (Jessica) De Jager of Waupun; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Willis Mulder of Waupun and Harold (Gert) Mulder of Waupun; a sister, Julia Broadway of Waupun; sisters-in-law: Georgene Mulder and Joan Mulder; and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Marion Sanders and Christena Ter Beest; and three brothers: Junior, Albertus and Alvin Mulder.





Visitation:


Friends and relatives of Catherine De Jager may call on the family on Friday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


Funeral services for Catherine De Jager will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Alto Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Forsell Gappa officiating.



Burial:


Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
