Cayle McAllister

April 7, 1936 — October 17, 2025

Cayle Leroy McAllister passed away on October 17, 2025 at the age of 89. Cayle was born on April 7, 1936, to Vernon McAllister and Minnie Ellen (Hoss) Garrett in Wallace County, Kansas.

Cayle had a variety of jobs during his life. In the 1950’s Cayle went to California where he was able to share his love and respect for horses. He worked with and delivered show horses. He also helped at times with Western productions handling horses.

He moved to Colorado where he did construction work and emceed horse shows. One honor Cayle was very proud of was working with kids in the 4H horse program.

Later in life he was a semi driver and worked for the U-Haul company.

In 1985 Cayle married Freda Williamson and lived in the Brighton, Colorado area until her passing in 2018. Shortly after, Cayle moved to Cambria, Wisconsin to be with his sister and her family.

Cayle always managed to keep busy. After moving to Wisconsin Cayle drove the Amish around the area to their jobs, errands or social gatherings. He enjoyed the rural sights and talking with the Amish about horses or even the old-fashioned way of farming.

Cayle enjoyed family get-togethers and his family and lifelong friendships in Kansas. He enjoyed watching the rodeos and the Grand National Show with his sister.

Cayle is survived by his sister Ella Charline Motsenbocker of Cambria, his son Robert and his family, stepsons Robert Orfield and Todd Williamson, nieces Robin Hendrickson, Dawn Motsenbocker, nephew Lyle Motsenbocker and great nieces and nephews. Cayle is also survived by many dear and close cousins and dear friends.

Cayle was preceded by his daughter Rebecca Lea McAllister in 2022.

The family would like to thank the Rio EMT Service, ER staff and the 4th floor doctors and nurses at Prairie Ridge Health Hospital in Columbus, Wisconsin and Randolph Health Services. Everyone was so compassionate in their care of Cayle as well as our family and it will not be forgotten. Thank you to Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home and Lori McConachie for assisting Cayle’s family.

Due to Cayle’s wishes, there will be no services.

“Happy trails to you, until we meet again.”
