Obituary

Cindy L. Haas, age 62 of Kingston, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

A memorial gathering for Cindy will be held on Saturday, December 21 at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church, W3278 Cty Rd K., Markesan, from 9:30 a.m until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Zacharias officiating. Private inurnment will take place at Kingston Cemetery.

Cindy was born in Waupun on August 6, 1957, the daughter of Robert and Marilyn (Mielke) Haas.A 1975 graduate of Markesan High School, Cindy earned her bachelor's degree in accounting at UW-Eau Claire before receiving her master's degree in 1986 from UW-Oshkosh in business administration. She started her career as an auditor with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue before working for AAL in Appleton. After becoming a CPA in 1982, she worked for AAL Capital Management Corporation where she finished her career there as Assistant Vice President in Corporate Accounting. In 1999, Cindy moved to Milwaukee and worked for Precision Marketing Partners, Northwestern Mutual, and finally for Skylight Music Theater. Throughout her career, she taught courses for Fox Valley Technical College, Ottawa University, and Lakeland University. In retirement, Cindy kept active through volunteer work; she served as treasurer of the Grand Lake Improvement Association, as well as the Kingston Historical Preservation Society. She also served as an AARP-Foundation Tax Aide in the Ripon and Berlin areas. Her passion was ballroom dancing and was a member of Dancers' Circle where she completed her term as President in 2019.

Cindy is survived by her siblings, Nancy (Stuart) Linger of Markesan, Sally (Drew) Cressman of Brentwood, TN, and Chuck Haas of Kingston; nieces and nephews, Stefanie (Frank) Wade of Hartford, Nicole (Eric) Davis of Middletown, CT, Kendall Cressman of Salisbury, NC, Derek Cressman of Nashville, TN, and Hannah Cressman of Nashville, TN; one aunt; one uncle; 4 great-nephews; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and other relatives.
