Clifford E. Bishop

April 1, 1952 — December 4, 2025

Clifford “Cliff” “Toby” Ewing Bishop, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. When he wasn’t fighting with his women, he was fighting pain from Agent Orange, which eventually took him down after a stroke in 2021 put him in the nursing home.

Cliff was born in Florida, the son of Frank and Doris Jean (Glass) Bishop. He served in the United States Army, enlisting in 1969. He was stationed in Florida and Alabama before serving in Vietnam from 1970–1971 as a combat ground soldier. After returning home, he built a long career as a carpenter and maintenance man, later working in logistics management for Northern Telecom and Fiskars. He retired in 2010.

Cliff lived in many places throughout his life, including Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, Florida, and finally, Wisconsin. He had a fond appreciation of the ocean and enjoyed visiting Devils Lake, camping, shopping “WALMART,” scrolling Amazon and Marketplace, and keeping up with new technology and smart devices. He loved football, especially the Cowboys, as well as listening to 60s and 70s rock music. In his younger years, his favorite pastimes included bowling, golfing, traveling, auctions, and cheering on the Cowboys in person in Texas. Growing up, he loved his pet turtle, Toby, and he could often be found getting into trouble with his brothers. Through everything, he lived by one core value: family first. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Cliff is survived by his children, Josh and Madison; brothers, Jimmy, Joey, and Allen; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Garrett; and further survived by other relatives and friends, including the staff at Randolph Health Services, where he lived for 3 years.

Cliff was preceded in death by his mother, Doris; his father, Frank; his sister, Juanita; and his daughter, Christina; and other relatives.

A graveside service for Cliff will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo.
