Clyde V. Hodgson, age 81 of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Clyde was born on December 9, 1925 in Merrill, WI to Earl and Hazel (nee Coyer) Hodgson. On April 22, 1963 he married Ginny Schelter in Illinois. Clyde worked for Pure Milk in Juneau for 15 years and John Deere in Horicon for 24 years, where he was very proud of his accomplishments. Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 in Beaver Dam. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a great love of fishing, bow hunting and turkey hunting. Clyde enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and spending time at their cabin in Friendship, WI. Clyde was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation for 20 years and a member of Waupun United Methodist Church.
Clyde is survived by his wife Ginny of Beaver Dam, his children: Katherine (Richard) Moore of Green Bay, Bobbie (Mike) Vossekuil of Waupun, Bonnie (Roy) Pullam of Beaver Dam, Sue (Scott) Kohl of Pound, WI and Rick (Cheryl) Hodgson of Beaver Dam, Grandchildren: Erin and Kristen Moore, Bradley Elvers, Stephanie (Brandon) Frutiger, Jon Vossekuil, Jennifer, Jessica and Jared Pullam, Shannon (Lance) Patrouille and Paige Hodgson, 8 Great- Grandchildren, a brother, Hilbert (Edna) Hodgson of Columbus, a brother in law, DuWayne Schelter of Waupun and sister in laws, Pat Hodgson of Neosho, Betty Hodgson of Merrill, WI and Lavina Schelter of Oakfield. Clyde is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Randy Hodgson and five brothers, Harvey, Lee, Chester, Gene and Clifford Hodgson.
Funeral Services for Clyde will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 11 o'clock a.m. at Waupun United Methodist Church, 199 E. Jefferson St in Waupun with Rev. J.D. McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Town of Mackford Prairie in Green Lake County. Graveside military rites will be provided by the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 of Beaver Dam.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4 o'clock until 8 o'clock p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. The John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 is invited for a walk through at 6 o'clock p.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday at Waupun United Methodist Church from 10 o'clock a.m. until the time of Service at 11 o'clock a.m.
