Obituary

Craig Baszynski, age 69 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home.

Craig was born on July 7, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Aelred and Adeline (Kutcher) Baszynski. He proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force working on missels. Craig worked for Bob G. Engler for 16 years, before spending most of his working career at Supersky, working on skylights for 28 years before retiring. Some of the work he was most proud of is featured at the Milwaukee Art Museum. He was a member of Local #18 for 47 years and also worked as a bartender at Smitty's.

Craig was united in marriage to Barbara Kutzke on July 29, 1972 in Beaver Dam. He was a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146. He enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting, traveling and going out to eat. He looked forward to shooting pool weekly with his cousin, Sass (new Sheriff in town) and visits from his classmate Rick Schmidt. The most precious gift in life was his daughter and now to add two precious granddaughters.

Craig is survived by his wife Barbara of Beaver Dam; his daughter, Tanya (fiancé Jorge Martinez) Baszynski of California; his granddaughters, Lola and Adela Martinez; his brother, James (Cheryl) Baszynski of Waupaca; his sister, Julie (Barry) Schraufnagel of New Hampshire; his Supersky work family, especially Jeff Westra and Steve Damico who Craig thought of as his own son, along with all the crew and office staff (Craig's wish is for all of you to "go to Howard's and give him one hell of a send off to a better place."); his South Dakota pheasant hunting buddies; nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Skyler; his best fishing buddy, Bruce Lewandoski, whom he'll join to show him how to catch the big ones.

Craig's wish is to celebrate his going to a better place. Private family services will be held. Please honor him by having one last drink and remember all the good times.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam is honored to be serving the family.
