Craig Becker

Craig Becker, 62, of Brandon, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.


Craig was born November 4, 1961 in Milwaukee, the son of Calvin and Barbara (Travers) Becker. Craig went to Greenfield High School and after graduating high school married Tammy Krezinski on August 14, 1982. They first resided in Milwaukee, then West Bend, and later moved to Brandon in 2015 where they currently resided. Craig worked at various jobs which included Dolenshek Marine where he was a mechanic, RL Ryerson which was a Polaris Distributor in Menomonee Falls, and later owned and operated Mel’s Bar in Brandon with his wife, Tammy since 2015. He loved to cook and take care of and raise his grandkids. Craig enjoyed taking care of his flowers and lawn, and won a beautification award. He was very protective about his lawn. His favorite thing was country music and he was known as Milwaukee’s Toby Keith because of his resemblance to him. Craig loved spending time in Nashville. He enjoyed all the musicians that came in to play at the bar and even joined in with singing. Craig always enjoyed singing and making memories at the bar. He also loved hanging out with his special friend, Michael Scott. One of Craig’s favorite things to do was talk to people at Mel’s Bar and create lasting memories.


Craig is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tammy; children: Tricia (Mark) Ramge and Tiffany Becker (Michael Zander); grandchildren: Austin Becker (fiance, Lexi Schwartz), Cynleah Landry, and Wyatt Zander; step-granddaughter, Miranda Eggert (Kaine), step-great-grandson, Sawyer Eggert; long-time best friend, Mike Sullivan; sister, Barbara Otto; mother-in-law, Patricia Krezinski; sisters-in-law, Tina (Frank) Thein and Tracy Krezinski; and many nieces and nephews.


Craig was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Nicholas Krezinski; brothers-in-law: Richard Otto and Troy Krezinski.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 12-7 p.m. at Mel’s Bar in Brandon with a service at 2 p.m.


A special thanks to all of the doctors and nursing staff that took care of Craig at St. Agnes, SSM Green Lake Hospice, all of our staff at the bar; and all of our loyal customers at Mel’s Bar.
