Dale Ferron

Dale Ferron, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Dale was born on September 6, 1947, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to James F. and Wanda (Czajka) Ferron. Dale was baptized into the Christian faith and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Dale attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, De Sales Preparatory Seminary, and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1965. He continued his education at Madison Area Technical College with an accounting degree.

Dale spent much of his professional career serving the people of Wisconsin through his work with the Wisconsin Retirement System at the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds in Madison. Known for his diligence and integrity, he worked his way up to the head of the department that served thousands of public employees across the state.

Outside of his professional life, Dale devoted countless hours to athletics and youth sports. For many years he officiated high school volleyball through the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, where he was respected for his fairness and dedication to the game. He was also very active with the Badger State Games, supporting and promoting amateur athletics across Wisconsin. Dale also gave decades of service to softball as an umpire, leader, and Commissioner with USA Softball (ASA) of Wisconsin. Dale’s dedication to youth and amateur athletics earned him induction into the ASA and Umpire Hall of Fame.

Dale was also dedicated to his local community. He served as Treasurer of the Siggelkow homeowners association in Madison, where he worked with neighbors to help maintain a strong and welcoming neighborhood.

He had a deep appreciation for nature and the arts, and especially enjoyed collecting wildlife and nature artwork.

The Ferron family is thankful to God and expresses deep gratitude to the caring staff at Home Again Assisted Living, Columbus Community Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and the Hospice unit at St. Mary’s. The family cannot thank the medical teams enough for their exceptional care and compassion.

He is survived by two brothers, James J. (Maxine) and Joe; nieces and nephews, Tracy (Randy) Rabata, Toni (Mike) Shiels, Todd (Tracy) Ferron, Tanya Kircher, Brenda Stebbins, Sue Ferron, Madison (Cory) Quirk, Mia Ferron; and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James F. and mother, Wanda M., his brother Mike, close relatives, Brett Heding, Troy Ferron, Sophia Kircher, and Tom Stebbins; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

Visitation for Dale will take place on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Prell officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
