Daniel L. Trotz, age 73 of Dalton, passed away at home with family by his side on Monday, April 28, 2025.

A memorial gathering for Daniel will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church, N796 Linden St., Dalton, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Daniel was born on July 4, 1951, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, the son of William and Maxine (Dolgner) Trotz. On August 12, 1951, he was baptized at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a 1969 graduate of Cambria Friesland High School, where he played football, baseball, basketball, and ran track. He then attended UW-Stevens Point, graduating in 1975. On June 24, 1978, Daniel was united in marriage to Teresa Graff at Grace Lutheran Church in Dalton. After a few years of teaching, Daniel became a carpenter. He was a doting husband and caretaker, and loved helping his kids with their businesses as well as on the farm. He also enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's events, as well as playing slow pitch baseball and softball for the Dalton Gang and Dalton Dawgs. In his free time, he liked collecting baseball cards and other sports memorabilia. Daniel was a faithful WELS member for all of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Trotz; children, Andrea (Caleb) Opalewski, Andrew (Hannah) Trotz, and Adam (Heather) Trotz; grandchildren, Alyssa, Emmy, Harvest, Austin, Ashtin, Addy, and a baby on the way; sisters, Julie Trotz and Barbara Trotz; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Graff and Douglas Graff; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Allan) Hoffmann and Barbara (Jeff) Lang; Godfather, Donald Dolgner; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maxine Trotz; his father- and mother-in-law, Alfred and Juanita Graff; his grandmas, Etta Dolgner and Verona Trotz; Godmother, Carla Larson; Godfather, Norbert Hausinger; and other relatives.
