Darlene M. Allen, age 73, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam with her family by her side. Darlene was born on May 14, 1937 to Herman and Alma Homman in Rio, WI. After graduating from high school, she originally attended the County Normal School in Columbus and later went to nursing school in Madison. Darlene worked at St. Joseph's and Lutheran Hospitals, both in Beaver Dam, and later at the Beaver Dam Care Center. On September 21, 1958 she was united in marriage to Gordon L. Allen in Fall River. She was a member of Truth Tabernacle-Last Trumpet Ministries in Beaver Dam.

Darlene loved to cook. She took great interest in obtaining new recipes and giving them a try. Her hobbies included knitting, reading and working on her family tree. She was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and would attend many of their baseball games or hockey matches. Darlene would pray for her family on a daily basis and her faith was always in her forefront.

Darlene will be sadly missed by her husband, Gordon Allen of Fall River; her daughter, Dyonne (Greg) Miller of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Daniel, Jacob and Laura Beth Miller; her siblings, Delores Hasenfuss of Columbus, Sharon Homman of Columbus, Mervin (Dorothy) Homman of Randolph and a sister-in-law, Barbara Vershure of Lombard, IL. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Geraldine Homman, a brother-in-law, Virgil Hasenfuss and a sister-in-law, Beatrice (Douglass) Randall along with other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Darlene will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam with Shirley Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton with a luncheon to follow back at Cornerstone
