Daryle E. Miller, 83, of Waupun, died Monday evening, October 19, 2015 at his home.




Daryle E. Miller was born July 25, 1932 in Fond du Lac, WI the son of Evern and Ora Hoffman Miller. Daryle graduated from Waupun High School in 1950. He served our country with the U.S. Army for two years, spending some of that time in Korea. On March 8, 1955 he married Lois Buteyn at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The couple resided in Hawaii until the end of his military tour. They moved back to Waupun and he continued to serve with the Army National Guard and also with a Civil Affairs Reserve Unit in Green Bay. He spent a total of 26 years with the Guard/Reserves including another year of active duty at Fort Lewis, WA during the Berlin Crisis. He served as Company Commander during his career with the Waupun unit: Company A, 2nd Battle Group, 127th Infantry, 32nd Red Arrow Division. He retired with the rank of Captain. Daryle was employed by the Wisconsin Division of Corrections at the Waupun Correctional Institution where he was a Supervisor for Badger State Industries, and retired in 1991. Daryle was active with Waupun Little League and the Waupun Hockey Association, and was involved with these organizations in their formative years. He was a former member of Rock River Country Club. He was a member of American Legion Post 210 in Waupun and served with the Post Honor Guard and also as Chaplain. Daryle is a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun.

Daryle is survived by his wife, Lois Miller of Waupun; two sons: Steve (Shelley) Miller of Wausau and Tom (Teresa) Miller of Waupun; four grandchildren: Scott Miller, Stephanie Miller, Adam Miller, and Kaylee Miller; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Elaine (Elliot) Tanis of Holland, MI, Margaret (Blair) Boggs of Cornelius, NC, and Ted Van Galen of Naples, FL; special family friend, Annette Miller of Waupun; along with several nieces and nephews.

Daryle was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Van Galen.





Visitation:


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


Memorial services for Daryle Miller will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. John White officiating.
