David A. Smith age 49, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2014.
David was born December 11, 1964, in Chicago Heights, Illinois and moved to Ripon in 1980. He was employed for many years at Ripon Pick & Save. He was a member of the 'Grandsons of The American Legion'. David loved the outdoors and fishing and hunting were his passion. He especially enjoyed taking his son Read fishing to the Ripon Mill Pond.
David is survived by his son, Read Smith, Pickett, WI, sister, Sara Lee, Ripon, WI, brothers, Robert (Peggy) Wehle, Ripon, WI, Jeff, (Sandy) Wehle of Eldorado, WI, and Daniel Koehler of Hollywood, FL. He is also survived by his parents, Margie Sue (Lee) Koehler, Three Lakes, WI and Allen (Sally Heiser) Smith, Ripon, WI, grandmother, Esther Smith, Ripon, WI and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by a sister, Renee Heiser Newby, Grandfather, Calvin Smith, Ripon, WI, Grandmother, Margerette Dail, Dade City, FL and Grandfather, Chester Read, Cedar Lake, IN.
A Memorial Service will be planned in the spring.
Memorials will be directed to benefit his son, Read.
