IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David H.
Patzlsberger
February 14, 1945 – June 19, 2024
David "Potzy" Henry Patzlsberger, age 79 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Clearview LTC & Rehab in Juneau.
A memorial gathering for Potzy will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
Potzy was born in Beaver Dam on February 14, 1945, the son of Marvin and Ann (Haas) Patzlsberger. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, taking care of the missiles on the B52 Bombers. After his honorable discharge, he sold insurance and was a bartender before he began his career at John Deere, from where he retired after 30 years. On August 4, 1990, he was united in marriage to his wife, Candy McKinney, on the family farm, which was his piece of heaven here on earth. He loved anything with an engine, from his cherished Corvette to his John Deere tractor, and enjoyed watching sprint car races as well. Potzy had great pride for his family farm, enjoying every aspect from snow plowing to spraying dandelions in the lawn. Besides rooting for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers, in his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, listening to Elvis, and watching game shows. Potzy also was passionate about bringing joy to others, putting smiles on kids' faces, and witnessing for Christ. His family and friends will miss his great sense of humor and storytelling.
Potzy is survived by his wife, Candy Patzlsberger; children, Jennifer (Robert) Russell and Steven K. Bilke; grandchildren, Danielle McKinney, Steven N. (Danielle) Bilke, Garion K. Bilke, Arwen L. Bilke, and Aurie G. Russell; great-grandchildren, Daelynn D. Steinhorst and Zayden M. McKinney; sisters, Kathy Munro, Mary Elsen, and Jean (Roger) Stenson; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Pete Elsen and David Munro; and beloved dogs, Komiko, Bodie, and Kyah.
As Potzy, the self-proclaimed honorable mayor of South Beaver Dam, would often say: "it was a pleasure to know you."
