David Puente

David Puente, 69, of Waupun, passed away Friday July 24, 2026, at the Christian Home Care & Rehab Center in Waupun.

David was born June 27, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Those who knew David would describe him as witty, nonjudgmental and always able to make people laugh. If you were fortunate enough to be part of his circle, you knew you could always count on him. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to family, friends or neighbors whenever they needed one.

A true outdoorsman, he found great joy in fishing and was an avid waterfowl and whitetail deer hunter.

David built his career from the ground up turning years of hard work into the ownership of his own printing company, Flexographic Packaging. His business became so successful that he never needed to advertise and embraced a philosophy that his customers were his partners.

He is survived by his daughter Marisa (Jon) White; 3 grandchildren; Lilly, Evelyn, Amelia; two brothers, John Jr. (Lory) Puente and Robert (Kathy) Puente; two sisters Reda (David) Berry and Gloria (Alan) Schwantes; half-brother Ted (Debbie) Puente; half-sister Linda Puente and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father John C. Puente and mother Gladys O'Herrin (formerly Puente), a sister Anita Jenks and a nephew Jesse Jenks.

David, you will be FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.

We would like to thank SSM staff and hospital as well as Christian Home Care & Rehab Center for their caring commitment, support and professionalism.

In lieu of flowers, the family will accept memorial donations, which will be contributed to St. Jude’s Hospital in honor of David.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Father Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, prior to the service.
