Obituary

David Warmka, age 61 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 31, 2013 at home.

Dave was born on February 29, 1952 in Beaver Dam, WI to Andrew and Adeline (nee Lang) Warmka. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1970. Dave met his soul mate Barbara (Nannery) in high school and they were united in marriage on June 5, 1971 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Dave worked as a Correctional Officer at Fox Lake Correctional Institution, retiring as a Sergeant in 2005 after 30 years of state service.

Dave was a devoted Husband and Father; he would sacrifice anything for his family and was a doting Grandpa. The one thing Dave was most proud of was his children. At each of his children's weddings Dave had the song "I can't help falling in love with you" by Elvis played so he and Barb could waltz as they did at their own wedding. Dave was very generous and willing to help anyone who was in need. He had a heart of gold. He was also very handy, enjoyed woodworking and could teach himself how to do anything. Dave was a huge John Wayne fan and a charter member of the Packer Partners Club. Dave was the former coach of the girls little league team the Orioles. He was one of the founders and a driving force behind the "Jim Boyd Memorial Scholarship and Bowling Tournament". Dave bowled for many years in both couples and men's league. For his 25th class reunion Dave chose "you're still the one" as his quote, as he wanted everyone to know how much he was still in love with Barb. Dave was truly in love with his wife until the day he died and they would have celebrated their 42nd anniversary on June 5th, 2013.

Dave is survived by his wife, Barbara of Beaver Dam; his four children and grandchildren, April (Bryan) Frazier & Alecia, Lydia,of Searcy, AR, Adam (Robin) & Isabel, Warmka of Verona, Alex (Tracy) & Sophie, Hannah, Benjamin, Ella, Adeline Warmka of Milwaukee and Angie (Dan) & Amelia Foster of Jefferson; his brother, Andrew (Betty) Warmka of Fox Lake; his sister, Adeline "Toots" (Jim) Boeder of Beaver Dam; his mother-in-law, Mary Nannery of Beaver Dam and his special cousin, Betty Lou (Ralph) Mielke of Waupun and special friend and neighbor Rosemary McDermott. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Adeline; two brothers, Jim and Joe Warmka; his father-in-law, Jack W. Nannery; two sisters-in-law, Pastor Diane M. Clark and Linda Nannery, and other relatives.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Deacon Ed Cody officiating.
