Debra Lynn Decker

July 30, 1956 — June 30, 2025

Debra Decker, 68, of Montello, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on June 30th, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer.

Debra was born on July 30th, 1956 to Frank and Roberta Decker in Hinsdale, Illinois where she was raised. She graduated from Hinsdale South, Class of 1974. She later moved to Wisconsin, where she began her most cherished role, a proud mom. As her children grew, she worked various factory jobs, always making many great friends along the way. After retirement in 2022, Debra spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren.

Debra had many hobbies; she loved riding Harley’s, shooting pool and darts, and was a member of different leagues throughout her life. Debra enjoyed gardening and canning, a skill that she was proud to pass on to her children. Debra loved a good book, a great movie or series, and had impeccable taste in music. Debra loved cooking and baking. She always looked forward to getting her children and grandchildren together during the holidays to bake and decorate cookies, and any time in between just to be together. Debra loved Dennis, her children and grandchildren fiercely. There was nothing in life more important to her than family.

Debra is survived by her 4 children and 14 grandchildren. Jeff (Connie) Burmania – Codie, Marissa, Mackenzie, Jill (Robert) Schwantz – Gemini, Lilyian, Roary, Dawn (Nicholas) Becker – Skyler, Trinity, Drake, Jeremy (single) Burmania – Zoey, Jeremy Jr., Jace, Isaac, Aubrey. Dennis Busse, the love of her life for the last 28 wonderful years. Her niece, Julie Willis – Heather & Alexis, and her life long best friend, Cathy McLelland – Brian, Amanda, Sean & Eric. As well as 7 great-grandchildren (that we know of).

Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Roberta Decker, Linda, her grandparents, sister, Carla Jahns, and her “adopted children,” Donnie, Christopher and Al.

Debra was an amazing soul, with a heart of gold and the mouth of a trucker. If she loved you, it was with all of her heart. If she didn’t, you knew it. Debra would not want anyone to be sad that she was gone, she would want us all to do what she loved to do, spend all of the time you can with family. Always remember that tomorrow is never promised, take advantage of every opportunity to make memories with the ones you love. Bake a cake, plant some flowers, drink a glass of wine, and always say I LOVE YOU.

A very special thank you to the McLelland family for all of the love, support and help throughout the years. and to the very end. And, to Lorelei Cavazos for everything you did for mom and all of us. We couldn’t have gotten through this without you guys.

Per Debra’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
