Della was born on February 2, 1929 in Hustisford, WI to Christ and Rosa (nee Eicher) Haldemann. She graduated from Fall River High School in 1947. Later that year, she moved to Beaver Dam and was united in marriage to Elmer Schultz on November 29, 1947 in Juneau, WI. Besides being a housewife, Della worked in the lunch program at Wilson Elementary School in Beaver Dam. After over 37 years of marriage, Elmer passed away in 1985. On November 3, 1989, Della was remarried to Raymond Dobbratz. Della was a very active member of Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam, where she made banners and coordinated many funeral luncheons and rummage sales. She enjoyed dancing, baking and playing cards, especially sheepshead. Della was also very artistic and liked sewing, stamping cards and making craft items.

Della is survived by her second husband of over 21 years, Raymond Dobbratz of Beaver Dam; her two sons, Ronald (Linda) Schultz of Milwaukee and Randall (Karen) Schultz of Madison; two grandchildren, Laura and David Schultz; five step-children, LeRoy (Dorothy) Dobbratz, Donald (Rosemary) Dobbratz, Caroline (Dale) Maas, Gertrude (Norm) Tilema and Blondina Krause; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Dolores) Haldemann of Beaver Dam and Oscar Haldemann of Middleton; and one sister, Rosa Hustad of Windsor. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Della was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Elmer, two brothers, Edgar and Otto Haldemann, one sister, Gertrude Guse, and other relatives.

A Memorial Service for Della will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Church – United Methodist, 308 Oneida Street in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jeffery Nicholas officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon. Memorials in Della's name may be directed to Trinity Church – United Methodist.
