Dennis Dale Drews, age 64 of Beaver Dam, lost his battle with brain cancer on Friday, March 1, 2024.

Dennis was a loving father, husband, and grandpa. Dennis was born in Waupun on March 14, 1959, the son of Fred and Leora Drews. He was a 1977 graduate of Waupun High School and attended Moraine Park, where he obtained a degree in food manufacturing in 1979. He put his degree to good use, working for Kraft Foods for over 35 years. Dennis was united in marriage to his wife, Joan Schleicher. A skilled woodworker, he took care of a variety of household projects over the years. He enjoyed playing pickleball and tennis, as well as riding his motorcycle. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Bucks, Brewers, and Packers. His favorite thing to do, however, was to spend time with his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Joan Drews of Beaver Dam; children, Samantha (Jason) Alvarado and Stacy Drews; grandchildren, Jackson and Audrey Alvarado; siblings: Susan Buechel (Tom), Jean Sennhenn, Wayne Drews, Keith Drews (Marilyn), Gary Drews (Cheryl), Nancy Kermeen (Brian), Jim Drews (Jody), Chuck Drews (Jan), Cheryl Kok (Merle), Lois Walther (Dan), Laurie Benkley (Kurt), and Brenda Luskey (Dennis); in-laws, Ron Schleicher, Jane Katsma (Randy), and Ed Schleicher; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Dale Sennhenn; sister-in-law, Nancy Schleicher; nephew, Jesse Drews; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Dennis will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at First Ev. Lutheran Church, 311 W. Mackie St., Beaver Dam, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jim Wendt officiating.
