Diane Johnson

Diane Johnson, age 64, of Waupun, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at her home after a courageous battle with COPD. 

Diane was born on November 1, 1960 in Oconomowoc, the daughter of Geryl and Judith Geszvain Rector. Diane graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1978 and further pursued her education at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where she studied nursing. Diane's professional journey included many years of dedicated service as a manager at Check Into Cash and later at the Wisconsin Auto Auction. However, her true passion lay in her role as a caretaker, focusing her energies on nurturing her family and ensuring their well-being.

On August 18, 1979, Diane married the love of her life, Richard Johnson, in Hartland. Together, they created a warm and loving home, first in Pewaukee before settling in Oakfield. Diane cherished her time spent with her family and enjoyed hobbies such as playing games on her phone, watching HGTV, and following the Property Brothers.

Diane is survived by her three children: Heather Johnson (fiancé Shawn Karr), Justin (Linda) Johnson, and Richard Johnson III. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Austin (Carli) Johnson, Silas Johnson, Aiden, Alex, Avery, Landyn, and Arianna Johnson. Additionally, she was looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild into the world. She was also survived by her siblings: Brian (Dawn) Rector, Don (Ann) Rector, Donna Rector, and Jerry (Amy) Rector, as well as her dear friend, Lindsy Johnson-Gannon.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her parents. Her legacy of love and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 12-2 p.m.
