Don P. Schafbuch, age 90, passed away on February 22, 2019 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Don will be held on Sunday, March 3 at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. Burial with graveside military honors will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Mayville.

Don was born on March 18, 1928 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Louis and Ida May (Mahler) Schafbuch. He graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1946 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On August 30, 1958 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Knoff in Milwaukee. After farming for a few years, he worked in the banking industry and furthered his education at UW-Madison, eventually serving as Vice President at M&I Bank in Mayville. In his free time, Don enjoyed cross stitching and coin collecting, and took pride in gardening and landscaping. He was also involved with Junior Achievement in Mayville and Cub Scouts.

Don is survived by his daughter; Kari Kittell of Wautoma; son-in-law, Freddie Palmer of Elkhorn; grandchildren, Michael (Bethany) Palmer of Elkhorn, Matthew (Leah) Palmer of Franklin, Jason (Elise) Kittell of Wautoma, Morgan (Zach) Lyons of Wray, CO, and Joseph Kittell of Burnett; nieces, Susie (Jim) Collins of Surprise, AZ and Linda (Mike) Revane of Scottsdale, AZ; sister-in-law, Joyce Pedder of Surprise, AZ; great-grandchildren, Riley, Jordyn, Aubrey, and Claire Palmer, Allison and Emily Palmer, Wyatt, Clayton, and Samuel Kittell; special friend Gerardo (Kathy) Quaassdorff; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine in 2007; son, Kenneth Schafbuch, daughter, K'Ann Palmer, granddaughter, Jennifer Kittell; and other relatives.
