Donald R. Arndt

Donald Ray Arndt, age 95 of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Don was born at his grandparent’s house in Dodge County on the south side of County Hwy AW on August 11, 1930, the son of Harold and Thelma (Weckworth) Arndt. He grew up in the house his father built in Green Lake County and played on the shores of Lake Maria. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Don drove truck, delivering Fall River Canned Goods and fondly remembered a trip delivering heavy equipment to Alaska for family. He also worked for Green Lake County’s Highway Department, from where he retired. He enjoyed 35 years of retirement, where he enjoyed scouting out restaurants for breakfast and sitting under his shade tree. An avid outdoorsman, he experienced around 75 deer openers and other various hunting endeavors.

Don is survived by his children, Catherine (William) Woodard, Christine (Richard) Belcastro, Paula (Mady) Arndt, Steven Arndt, Laura (Leonard) Baggett, Jeff Arndt, and Susan (James) Streholski; grandchildren, Elisabeth Steed, Cameron Crews, Joshua Kendrick, Victoria (Matthew) Bierman, and Makayla (Brayden) Mitchell; 3 great-grandchildren; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adeline Arndt; son, David Arndt; stepson, Donald Snyder; brother, Duane Arndt; and other relatives.

In honoring Don’s wishes, private family services will be held. Burial will take place at Manchester #1 Cemetery.
