Donald Lee Chaon Jr. passed peacefully at home on July 1, 2023 with his loving wife by his side.
Visitation for Don will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at River Shores Church, 253 S. Church St., Berlin from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Casey Getz officiating. Burial will take place at Tichora Cemetery, town of Mackford.
Don was born on March 6, 1937, the son of Beulah "Boots" (Allison) and Donald Chaon Sr. He had an active school education, attending 12 different schools before graduating from La Moille High School in 1955. He started life as a farm boy and worked his way up to plant controller at Del Monte, transferring to Markesan from Illinois in 1972. After his retirement, he stayed busy, finding other fun jobs to pass the time. Antiquing was a big passion of his, and he enjoyed all forms of monetary games of chance. He was an avid golfer, a Packers convert, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and friends. In his role as grandfather, he put together many fun and adventurous activities for the grandchildren, creating memories they will carry with them forever. He was united in marriage to Janice Chaon for 35 years. On September 16, 1995, he was united in marriage to his wife, Bonnie Justmann Williams in Berlin. He was a member of the Jaycees and later the Lions Club. Don courageously battled diabetes for over 45 years
Don is survived by his wife, Bonnie Chaon of Ripon; children, Lee (Sheri) Chaon of Oshkosh; Tina (Jim) Fredrickson of Madison; Josh (Molly) Williams of Green Lake; Randi (Mike ) Rowley of Alaska; son-in-law, Scott Gudex of Ripon; grandchildren, Betina (Emily Romaine) Chaon, Lindsay (David) Clay, Heather Wright, Ashley (Tyler MacNeal) Wright, Jamie (Rafael Leonardez) Fredrickson, Lesha (Ryan Gahart) Chaon, and Ike Williams; great-grandchildren, Delilah Meyer, Amelia and Lilly Clay; mother-in-law, Lorraine Justmann, sister-in-law, Julianne (Gary) Born; brother-in-law, Dale (Jeannine) Justmann; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant brothers; daughter, Becky Gudex; aunts and uncles; and other relatives.
