Donald L. Ohrmundt, age 73 of rural Randolph, died on Monday, April 21, 2008 as a result of a vehicle accident in Fond du Lac County.
Don was born on August 2, 1934 in Beaver Dam to Clarence and Rhoda (nee Franke) Ohrmundt. He attended St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran School and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1953. On September 28, 1957 he married Donna J. Zanto at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. Don and Donna purchased the Beaver Spring Lodge in January 1959 and operated the business for 39 ½ years. He became friends with many fishermen and duck hunters, enjoyed fishing, duck & turkey hunting, and living on Beaver Dam Lake. He was a big baseball and football fan, especially supporting the Brewers and Packers. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Deer Quality Management, and St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church.
Donald is survived by his wife Donna of Randolph; his brother-in-law Ron Zanto of Beaver Dam; three nieces, Gina (Jay) Olson of North Carolina, Liza (Lou) Lindow of Fond du Lac, and Suzette (Eric) Letcher of Madison; and one nephew, Rick Schumacher of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by several cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
Visitation for Don will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam. A Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Burial will take place Highland Memory Gardens. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
