Obituary

Donald "Don" L. Sieja, age 82 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral and Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam, from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Private family burial will take place at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Don was born in Beaver Dam on November 15, 1935, the son of Walter and Harriet (Wichinski) Sieja. He attended St. Michael's School into 8 th grade when the family moved to Chicago, where he attended Lane Tech High School. He later graduated from Wright Jr. College with an Associate Degree in Business. In 1954 he entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. He married Dorothy Ann Wrona on February 11, 1961, and they were blessed with three children. Don was active in Little League Baseball and in 1975 was elected President of the Hiawatha Park Youth Program. For 35 years he worked at Chicago Rotoprint/W.F. Hall/Ringier America, retiring in 1991 as Director of Corporate Production Planning. Don and Dorothy spent their retirement years in Henderson, NV, Sun City West, AZ, and Chicago, IL before residing in Beaver Dam. Don's hobbies included golfing, fishing and taking gambling trips with his wife to Las Vegas. Family was always Don's first priority. He treasured the time he spent with the Butterbrodt family during Fourth of July gatherings at Wind Lake, as well as all the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Don also had a very special relationship with his late daughter-in-law, Laura.

Don is survived by his children, Bill Sieja of Beaver Dam, Sue (Steve) Dixon, of South Elgin, IL, and Patti (Jack) Pasquale of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Michael and Anthony Pasquale, and Brin Sieja; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Carol Ann, in 1937; his father, Walter, in 1976; his mother, Harriet, in 1982; his wife, Dorothy, in 2009; daughter-in-law, Laura Sieja, in 2017; and other relatives.
