Donald M. Bushke age 84, of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2008 at his home. Don was born on July 26, 1924 in rural Randolph to Walter and Emma (nee Jahnke) Bushke. He served his country in the United States Army and was later united in marriage to Rose Sheeks. After returning from the service, he started Don Bushke Trucking Service in 1941 and continued to run the business until 2007. Trucking was not only his business, it was his passion and his lifelong hobby. Don's life evolved around anything to do with trucks. Much of his quality family time was spent at the shop with his children and teaching his grandchildren about working on trucks and mechanics. In his spare time he enjoyed going to truck auctions and watching Western movies.
Don is survived by his loving wife Rose, three children, Jennifer Zwieg, Judy (Don) Mayo, Kate Bushke: seven grandchildren, Marty Bushke, Ron Zwieg, Tony Zwieg, Sara Ponce`, Arabesque Bushke, Thunderhawk Bushke and James Mayo; two great-grandchildren, Tim Bushke and Sam Bennett. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard in infancy and a sister Melda Posthuma.
A Memorial Gathering for Don will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam is honored to be serving the family.
