Donald Richard Schwandt, age 77, passed away on April 22, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Center - Beaver Dam.
A memorial gathering for Don will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 950 Washington St., Horicon, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Don's ashes will rest in eternal peace alongside his family at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Donald was born August 18, 1947, in Beaver Dam to Richard (Dick) and Hilda (Meyer) Schwandt. Don worked at John Deere in Horicon for more than 35 years. He was known for his involvement in helping numerous organizations including over 40 years as a 4-H Leader with small animals, Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club, Watertown Pigeon Club, Friends of Dodge County Parks, Wisconsin Horse Council, Beaver Dam Agribusiness, Dodge County Antique Power Club, and the Knights of Columbus. He especially enjoyed attending events to drive tractor shuttling guests at Antique Power Show, Jefferson County Fair, Waldvogels, Dairy Brunch, and Midwest Horse Fair.
Don is survived by his children, Tonya (Mark) Lindert of Juneau, Dan (Theresa) Schwandt of Reeseville, and Tiffeny (Mark) Herioux of Columbus; his sister Rita (Doug) Lambert of Columbus; grandchildren; Jake, Tori, Delainey, Samantha, Danial, Andrew, and Violet as well as nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends including Janice Pieper and Raymalea Geb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Hilda Schwandt; sister, Lorraine Paul and sister, Marlene Smith.
