Donald Spanbauer

Donald Spanbauer passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

He was born in Oshkosh on February 16, 1941, the son of Norman and Lucille Spanbauer. He graduated from Waupun High School before enlisting in the United States Army, serving from 1961 to 1964. After coming home from service, he was united in marriage to Patricia Marshall on November 7, 1964. They resided in Waupun for all of their married life. He worked at National Rivet, from where he later retired. He enjoyed stamp collecting and especially loved watching his grandkids at all their sporting events. An avid Brewers fan, he enjoyed listening to and watching baseball games.

He is survived by his children, Bob (Karin) Spanbauer, Ann (Billy) Siedschlag, and Debbie (Paul) Mecklenberg; grandchildren, Alicia (Bryan) Yohn, Erik (Britta) West, Koby (fiancée, Breanna) Spanbauer, Kylee Spanbauer, Donnie Mecklenberg, and Jake Mecklenberg; great-grandchildren, Carson, Claire, Zoe, Lennon, Luna, and Kaiser; sister, Karen (Tom) Nolan; sister-in-law, Mary Spanbauer; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and special friends at Our Bar.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Spanbauer; his parents; brother, Jim Spanbauer; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Donald will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home from 2-5 p.m.
