Doris M. Degener age 89 of Markesan, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Markesan Barrett House.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church, W3278 Cty Rd K, Markesan, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Zacharias officiating. Burial will take place at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.

Doris was born on March 24, 1930, the daughter of Louis and Lillian (Hahn) Lueptow and was a graduate of Markesan High School. On September 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to her husband Durward Degener in Markesan. Doris enjoyed helping on the farm, as well as gardening and baking. She loved to play with her grandchildren and spoil them immensely. In her free time, she could be found sitting in the sun.

Doris is survived by her children, Karen Uecker and Dale (Darlene) Degener, both of Markesan; grandchildren, Jackie (Jon) Lisowski, Tim Uecker, Derek Degener, April (Danny) Lemberger, and Cole (Stephanie) Degener; great-grandchildren, Noah Lisowski, Addison and Brody Degener, Gabrielle and Wyatt Lemberger, and Blake and Alice Uecker; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Durward in 2004; sister, Bernice (Lawrence) Mueller; brother, Gerald (Ruth) Lueptow; and other relatives.
