Dorothy Ann Wingers

Dorothy Ann Wingers, age 80, of rural Cambria was taken home by our Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born on April 30, 1943, the daughter of Everett William and Pearl Anna (Goethke) Licht. She had many fond memories of growing up in Baraboo. Dorothy was united in marriage to David John Wingers on September 22, 1961 in Manistique, Michigan. They have lived in the Cambria area throughout their 62 years of marriage. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of Randolph United Methodist Church. Dorothy loved autumn and enjoyed the fall colors. Her past times included flower gardening, crocheting, crossword puzzles and bird watching, especially the arrival of the blue birds in the spring. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Monk right up to her final days.

Dorothy was employed over the years at the Racine Glove Co. in Rio, Ray-o-vac and the former Friday Canning Company. When her children were grown, she attended a technical college where she learned to drive semi-truck. Dorothy spent her remaining working years driving as a team with her husband for Delta Transportation. They traveled mostly west and were able to see our beautiful country together.

Dorothy will be sadly missed and mourned by her husband, David J. Wingers of rural Cambria; her son, Larry (Linda) Wingers of Randolph; her daughters, Debra (Gene) Bobholz of Friesland and Cindy Gamillo of Portage; seven grandchildren; a brother, Keith and sister, Kathleen; several other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, two brothers, Lloyd and Paul and a sister and best friend, Donna.

A private family service for the immediate family is being planned. Burial will take place at a future date in the Cambria Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be given to Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek to place an engraved brick in honor of her memory in their Memory Garden.
