Dorothy Dixon Pagel, 100, of Brandon, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 peacefully at Marvin’s Manor in Brandon.
Dorothy was born February 18, 1915 in Brandon, the daughter of Francis and Lillian Zuelsdorf Whittemore. She was a 1932 graduate of Brandon High School and later attended North Central College in Naperville, IL. In 1936 she married Alvin Dixon in Brandon. Following their marriage the couple resided in Ames, IA most of their married lives. After retirement they returned to Brandon. Alvin died in 1981. Dorothy married Charles Pagel in 1986, and he preceded her in death in 1988. Dorothy was a member of the Brandon United Methodist Church.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Thomas Dixon of Australia and her daughters: Mary Deonier of Ohio, and Stella (Jay) Horstman of Colorado; four granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands; a brother, Robert Whittemore, and a grandson.
