Obituary

Dorothy "DJ" Zuhlke, age 75, of Markesan and formerly of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025.

DJ was known for her contagious laugh, her big personality, and for being the life of every room she walked into. She was strong-willed, giving, and fiercely devoted to her family. Her opinions, humor, and loving "love pats" were unmistakably hers — and she shared them freely with those she cared about. Her like-minded companion, her beloved cat Ruby Sue, was an extension of her bold, spirited personality.

DJ worked at Scag Power Equipment and later at 4imprint, where she retired in 2016. She loved happy hour, camping, car shows with her cherished 1969 Pontiac Firebird, and meeting up with friends — making memories everywhere she went. More than anything, she treasured her family. She was an incredibly proud and loving mother to her sons, Aaron and Jason, and deeply cherished the special bond she shared with each of her grandchildren. Spending quality time with them was one of her greatest joys in life.

She is survived by her sons, Aaron (Wendy) Zuhlke and Jason (Misty) Zuhlke; her grandchildren, Paige Zuhlke (Nate), Logan (Hailey) Zuhlke, Bryson Zuhlke (Faith), and Colton Zuhlke; her great-grandson, Hayden; and five sisters, one brother, friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Helen Roedl, one brother, her boyfriend William "Bill" Lane, and sister-in-law Faith.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.

"Being cremated is my last hope for having a smoking hot body!" (A note found in her many sticky notes).

Her family asks that those who think of her do so with a smile, remembering the joy she spread and the bright, unforgettable spirit she lived by. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like an afterglow of smiles when my life is done."

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated and can be made to Latoya's Legacy Sanctuary in Pardeeville.
